Dental Fix Rx Franchise Owner Expands Territory in Wisconsin to Meet Increased Demand for Dental Equipment Repair

DAVIE, Fla. (Nov. 29, 2017) – Dental Fix Rx, a fast-growing national mobile dental equipment repair franchise, has officially signed an agreement with existing franchisee Bob Pabileck, a Wisconsin-based entrepreneur, to expand his territory. The agreement marks the 23rd franchise territory sold in 2017, and will be the third mobile repair van to launch in the state of Wisconsin.

Established Dental Fix Rx franchise owners are rapidly expanding the areas they serve, thanks to a new program that allows them to grow their territories with minimal additional investment.

“With the success I experienced as a Dental Fix Rx franchise owner and the growing need for quick dental equipment repair, it just made sense to expand my territory,” said Pabileck. “New Dental Fix Rx franchisees are launching in new territories all the time, so I wanted to make sure I was serving as many dental practices as possible while I had the chance.”

Dental Fix Rx closed out 2016 with 40 franchise agreements signed, and expects to add another 40 new franchise territories this year. All told, the company anticipates selling all of its U.S. territories within the next three years.

“On average we have sold and opened a new unit each week for the past three years. That’s unheard of for a lot of franchise brands,” said David Lopez, CEO of Dental Fix Rx. “Our concept continues to do well and attract attention from the dental industry and franchise prospects alike, because of our strong reputation as the faster, more cost-effective solution when it comes to equipment repairs.”

Dental Fix Rx continues to be North America’s only on-site dental equipment repair franchise. With 25,000-plus dental customers served throughout the U.S. and Canada, the company offers clients timely, on-site and customized services that produce quick, yet high-quality repairs. Franchise owners receive all the tools necessary to perform a variety of repairs on dental equipment, such as handpieces, chairs, vacuum pumps and more, all from a fully-equipped mobile repair van. Extensive pre- and post-launch training with continual sales and marketing support is also offered along with an industry exclusive, money-back guarantee.

“Our focus this year is on developing more national partnerships with dental service organizations and strengthening existing programs that drive value for our customers and growth for our franchise system,” Lopez added. “The dental equipment repair sector is a $38 billion industry. There’s tremendous opportunity here for our brand and we have the right systems and programs in place to capture it.”

The company’s recent partnership with Darby Dental Supply is evidence that Dental Fix Rx has the ability to dominate the dental equipment repair sector. The Darby Group, the nation’s largest all-telesales distributor of dental products, became an equity partner in the national mobile dental equipment repair service franchise in 2016. Through this long-term relationship, Dental Fix Rx franchisees, are able to generate revenue by referring customers to Darby Dental Supply for their supply needs. Additionally, Darby  refers work to Dental Fix Rx franchise owners from its current 37,000-plus dental supply customers.

From Fashion to Dental Equipment Repairs: How One New York Franchisee Feels at Home with Dental Fix

Name: Crystal Wingo-Anderson

Dental Fix Rx Franchisee Since: November 2015

Service Area: Mid-Hudson Valley, NY

Crystal enjoyed working in the garment industry at Victoria’s Secret, where she never had a “typical day,” performing a variety of jobs throughout the week. But, she was commuting two hours every day between home and Manhattan. When the position was eliminated, she was ready for a change. Crystal began researching franchise opportunities when a friend suggested Dental Fix Rx.. Holding a degree in fashion and having experience taking measurements and developing the pattern layout of garments, she wasn’t sure about making dental equipment repair her new career. She decided to give it a shot, and after launching her Dental Fix Rx in 2015 Crystal has won various awards with the franchise company. Like her days with Victoria’s Secret, Crystal enjoys that each day is atypical and presents different challenges.

QUESTION & ANSWER:

DFX: What skills from your previous career have you been able to apply as a Dental Fix franchisee?

Crystal: Working in the garment industry requires you to be crafty and work with your hands. I have a degree in pattern-making and have always liked creating things. Dental Fix Rx allows me to continue to use the technical aspects of my previous job each day. Also problem solving is an important part of Dental Fix Rx. With all the different jobs I had at Victoria’s Secret, I learned how to face a variety of problems and problem-solving.. You may encounter new equipment with Dental Fix Rx, so it’s good to have some tricks up your sleeve.

DFX: If you could go back to day one as a Dental Fix franchisee, what advice would you give yourself?

Crystal: If I could go back to day one, there’s a lot I would tell myself. But mostly I would remind myself to be patient. I was staring a new business in a new industry, and I needed to take the right steps toward success. It’s not always the quick and easy route, so patience would have helped me realize that.

DFX: What one thing have you been able to enjoy more, now that you’re self-employed?

Crystal:  I have so much extra time without that long commute. I like to spend more time at the gym now. I like working out not just for the fitness aspect, but it helps with my job too. Sometimes repairs can be physically taxing, so it helps to be in good shape. Overall, it makes me feel better and boosts my energy, so I’m glad I have more time for it these days.

DFX: What does the future have in store for you and your Dental Fix Rx franchise?

Crystal: Right now, I’m hoping to bring on a second van, and eventually expand into other territories too. I think growth is the next step, and I’m ready to take on the challenge.

Career Change from Locksmith to Dental Fix Rx Franchise Owner Makes Ryan Clark Wake Up Happy Every Morning

Name: Ryan Clark

Launched Dental Fix Rx Franchise: February 2017

Service Area: Annapolis, Maryland

Before becoming a Dental Fix Rx franchisee, Ryan Clark worked as a locksmith and as a specialist in the security and access control field for 16 years. Throughout, he craved the independence of owning his own full-time business in a niche industry. One day, while on a security system installation job, a Dental Fix Rx van caught his eye. Intrigued, he researched the company and realized the concept was exactly the kind of business opportunity he had in mind. After doing his due diligence, which included speaking with several Dental Fix Rx franchise owners, he decided to launch his own Dental Fix Rx to serve Annapolis area dental offices. His gross sales have increased every month since he started.

QUESTION & ANSWER:

DFX: How has your previous experience paid off in your career as a Dental Fix Rx franchise owner?

Ryan: Knowing how to troubleshoot security systems translates to figuring out what the problem is with any given piece of dental equipment. For example, I’ve been able to determine where the power loss is and find the lack of continuity in a wire.

DFX: The first six to 12 months of owning a small business are the hardest. How do you stay positive and motivated?

Ryan: Being independent, waking up happy every day and knowing that I have work to do keeps me positive. It just works for me. My responsibilities as a business owner, husband and father motivate me. I can see where this business is going, and I see it being a really great thing for me and my family. The end result is I’m happy, and that keeps me motivated.

DFX: What were the most unexpected challenges that came with opening your franchise?

Ryan: At first, financing seemed like it might be difficult because I did not have a whole lot of money to bring to the table. But, I worked with the corporate team, which came up with some creative ways to assist me. There were times when I worried I wouldn’t be able to get the business started, but the Dental Fix Rx corporate team kept going to bat for me and coming up with ways to make financing happen.

DFX: What advice do you have for individuals who want to own their own franchise?

Ryan: If you are craving your independence, be willing to put in a lot of hard work and time. Get out there and hustle. It pays off. I’m able to provide for my family, and I wake up happy every day. I have never been happier in my career. It’s a great feeling.

Local Entrepreneur Addresses Common Pain Point for Chicago-Area Dental Professionals

Schaumburg Resident Launches Local Dental Fix Rx Franchise, Providing On-Site Repair Services for Dental Practices in Chicago and Northwest Suburbs

CHICAGO, IL (Nov. 15, 2017) Dental Fix Rx—the fastest-growing, mobile dental equipment repair service franchise—is helping Chicago-area dental professionals get back to serving customers quicker when equipment breaks down.

Traditionally, when equipment malfunctions, a dental practice’s main option is to contact its area dealer, whose large sales area prevents it from responding quickly or delivering personalized service. Wael Shahshouh, who locally owns and operates Dental Fix Rx of Schaumburg, plans to relieve this pain point felt by many dental professionals throughout Chicago and the northwest suburbs.

Shahshouh is the company’s fourth franchisee in Illinois, and he services up to 350 dental offices throughout the Chicago area. Shahshouh owns dental offices in Chicago and Wisconsin with his wife, who is a dentist. It’s through these practices that he learned about Dental Fix Rx. Quite familiar with the need for dental equipment repair with a quick turnaround, the opportunity to meet this need in Chicago and its suburbs appealed to him.

“As a business owner, I understand the demand,” said Shahshouh. “There is a big need in the Chicagoland area with so many dental offices. Dentistry is very competitive in this area, but there are not enough technicians. I want to make sure the local dental practices have a fair, convenient and fast repair option to save them time and money.”

Prior to becoming a Dental Fix Rx franchisee, Shahshouh underwent an intensive eight-week training program with the Dental Fix Rx corporate team. With the necessary technical skills and a fully-equipped mobile service van, Shahshouh delivers prompt repairs for chairs, sterilizers, handpieces, vacuum pumps and more. He also sells new parts and devices – all at competitive prices. Prepared with the latest technology and diagnostic equipment, he is able to provide immediate services and repairs for any dental service scenario.

“Since repairs are completed on site, Dental Fix Rx is faster and more affordable than other repair options,” Shahshouh said, adding that he can respond to customers within 24 hours since he is local to his service area. “As the owner and operator of my Dental Fix Rx business, I am able to develop personal relationships with the practices in my community.”

The Dental Fix Rx corporate team handles the majority of back-end office support with centralized technological and account management services. This allows Shahshouh to primarily focus on serving local dental practices and offering first-class customer service. Dental Fix Rx clients also benefit from consistently working with the same experienced industry professionals, as well as no travel charges, free estimates and assessments, free emergency loaner service for compressor or vacuum pumps and personalized telephone support and account management.

Other services include equipment sales, delivery and upholstery. For more information on Dental Fix Rx of Schaumburg, visit http://www.dentalfixrx.com/or call 1-800-586-0340.

TAKING CHARGE | People Skills are the Secret to Success for this Dental Fix Franchisee

Name: Humberto Gomez

Dental Fix Rx Franchisee Since: February 2016

Service Area: Arlington-Dallas, Texas

Before becoming a Dental Fix franchisee, Humberto Gomez was in the U.S. Marine Corps. He later worked as a police officer and an insurance agent. He had no experience in the dental equipment repair industry, but found the Dental Fix Rx franchise opportunity to be a good fit. He decided to become a franchise owner because he wanted to be his own boss and have more flexibility and control over his work. After going through training and talking to existing franchisees, Humberto began running his own Dental Fix Rx.

QUESTION & ANSWER

DFX: What was your typical workday like, prior to launching your Dental Fix Rx?

Humberto: As a police officer, every day is different. You never really know what types of situations you’ll handle or what you’ll be doing on any particular day. When insurance was my main source of income, the days were a bit more structured. I spent most of the day just meeting with business owners and learning about them, their situations, their businesses and how I could help. I enjoyed it, but at a certain point I wanted to have a little more control over what I was doing. I didn’t like that I didn’t have much control over the time or the financial aspects of my work. When you own your own business, you can set your own prices and negotiate with your customers. I like having that control and being able to offer them a price that will work for both of us.

DFX: What similarities have you encountered among your previous career and being a Dental Fix Rx franchisee?

Humberto: The biggest similarities I’ve found have been in dealing with people. My clientele is pretty similar to the people I was working with as an insurance agent – small- to medium-business owners – so I was already familiar with many of their challenges. Also, as both an insurance agent and police officer, you have to be good with people. Particularly as a police officer, you have to keep a cool head in sometimes difficult or emotional situations. You learn how to help all different types of people with different challenges – in a way that will make them feel better and not escalate the situation. I enjoy working with people, and have always sought out those interpersonal relationships within each of my careers. It’s something I’ve always really enjoyed.

DFX: What skills come in handy the most as a Dental Fix Rx franchisee?

Humberto: My people skills are something that have come in handy as a Dental Fix Rx franchisee. I am somewhat of an extrovert, but I really think working with different people is extremely valuable. I enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and businesses in different situations. I still enjoy being able to help them by fixing their equipment or just being someone they can rely on at the end of the day. So, I definitely think interacting with people in previous careers has transferred over to my success with Dental Fix Rx. Customer service is what will differentiate you from competitors more than anything, so it really needs to be a priority for any business.

Veteran Puts Military Experience to Good Use at Corporate and Franchisee Level at Dental Fix Rx

Name: Matt Lau

Dental Fix Rx Employee Since: October 2012

Franchise Service Area: Treasure Coast, Florida

Before becoming Director of Training and a franchisee for Dental Fix Rx, Matt Lau served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 20 years. Many of his family members served in the army, but Matt wanted something more technical. After retiring from the Air Force as a Biomedical Equipment Supervisor, Matt started a dental equipment repair company. He then looked into the Dental Fix Rx and realized his skill set was a perfect fit for the fast-growing brand. Not only did he become part of the corporate family at Dental Fix Rx, but he also became a franchisee in Treasure Coast, Florida, with his business partner Andre Anderson.

DFX: As the Director of Training for Dental Fix Rx, what are your main responsibilities?

Matt: From the time a person signs their contract, it is my responsibility to make sure they are trained in all aspects of the business – from technical, costumer relations, financial management/planning and overall business management. One core value we’re taught in the military is the importance of continuing education. When I first came to Dental Fix Rx, I wanted to emphasize the importance of ongoing training, instead of just initial training. We provide our franchisees a month of pre-training to learn general business processes and business management expertise. Then, we have three weeks of classroom and hands-on training. It used to be very theoretical, but we continue to consistently improve upon our training. It’s much more hands-on and technical now.

DFX: How has your background as a veteran helped you with Dental Fix Rx?

Matt: One of my first projects with Dental Fix Rx was to reach out to our vendors to create an ongoing training program to help our guys get the knowledge they need to be the best in the business. I feel veterans would appreciate the culture of teamwork we have created. They don’t just view their customers as a paycheck, but truly get to know them, as well as their staff, to learn their needs and how they can help them. We’re all in this together, and by working together we all succeed. One source of pride for me is seeing a veteran succeeding in the company. I truly feel as though he or she is a member of my family.

DFX: What similarities exist between serving in the military and being a Dental Fix Rx franchisee?

Matt: Just like the military, we have created a path to success, and all our franchisees have to do is follow it. We also have our support system, an ongoing training program and uniform. We are also the only brand in our industry that has a certification system that allows us to “earn our stripes” and show our customers that we are continually getting better. Our five-star franchisees act as mentors/trainers to newer franchisees to help them transition successfully into the business.

DFX: Why is Dental Fix Rx a good fit for veterans?

Matt: We are all used to having a roadmap to success and someone to mentor us along the way. Dental Fix Rx has created a very similar system, and all we have to do is follow it. In the military, you don’t have the flexibility you have as a business owner, however. As a franchisee, you get all the benefits of a proven system, with the flexibility to try new things that you come up with along the way.
